Welcome to the website for the South Australian Society of Hypnosis.
The South Australian Society of Hypnosis (SASH) is the professional association of Hypnosis practitioners that combines the two longest-standing organisations in this state to promote and support the professional practice of Hypnosis. It is the effective amalgam of the South Australian Association of Hypnotherapists (formed as the SAHA and Hypnotic Research Association in 1964) and the SA branch of the Australian Society of Hypnosis (formed originally as the Australian Society for Clinical and Experimental Hypnosis in the early 1970s).
Thus, the SASH is made up of the most extensively trained and experienced practitioners of hypnosis in this state. Its members come from the three professional groups that are registered to practise hypnosis in South Australia, namely doctors of medicine, psychologists and dentists. These therapists apply the phenomena of hypnosis to achieving often spectacular results within their own professional fields, and using their specialised skills in this field are able to provide the public with this most powerful adjunct to treatment.
